I took this cover photo while walking my dog one morning. Whenever I take a photo pointed towards the sky I brace myself for one of two things.
One thing that can be guaranteed is that even when it looks good it never really looks like what you’re looking at. Perhaps this is simply my own experience but I bet even good ol’ Ansel Adams himself would say “yea… the sky didn’t look exactly like that but it's pretty close”.
Anyways… back to my dog walk.
I took my photo because the fog looked cool but when I looked it on my phone the fog got wildly illuminated. I mean it kind of looked like that IRL but not quite so bright but also... who cares?! it looks cool!
Again, this is undoubtedly what Ansel said despite his confidence in the ‘zone system’.
I was also impressed to see how the stars showed up. It’s always crazy to me to see when stars turn up in a photo (especially one that I spent 2 seconds composing). I don’t even remember seeing them when taking the photo but then they seemed to show up. Why can’t the moon be more like this?
All of this reminded me of this Frank and Ernest comic that for some reason lives rent free in my mind.
And with that… enjoy ‘anything for a laugh’.
