A couple of weeks ago I asked Silas if he'd be down to collaborate on a mix. The running joke around the house is that we're essentially the same person. This is likely due to our proclivity toward jackets with patches and our innate ability to space out.
When I was his age I would most likely have offered up four Huey Lewis songs, some Weird Al and potentially (hopefully?) a Bobby Brown track. I was genuinely curious as to what he'd come up with.
On my side of the fence I wanted to include songs that made me think of him. This fell into a few categories. Songs from videos that I have shown him, songs I have vivid memories of playing while he was in the back of the car, and songs that I have used in short videos that I've made with him.
I must admit I was a bit hesitant as to how this was all going to come together but once the process started it just kinda worked. Talking with him about music was a magical experience.
Enjoy, The Staff of KOGR
