I've been thinking a lot about closure recently. While I definitely believe in closure, I also wonder if closure only becomes recognizable in hindsight. I think my natural desire is to manufacture closure so I can move on. However, in practice when closure is my goal it feels forever out of reach.
I was working through this thought process the other day when I wrote the following in regards to cleaning out my father in law’s house.
“The further we dug in the more I realized there would never be an ‘end’.
Which is both frustrating and beautiful.”
Perhaps closure is not a finish line. Perhaps it is a beginning. Perhaps it’s time to lock the locks.
