This mixtape is called Night Hike

The concept for this mix started a few weeks ago when I went for an afternoon walk that resulted in me hiking through the woods in the dark. At one point the song I was listening to made me think of two other songs so I wrote the names of these songs down and kept going. When the sun went down I decided it'd be best to take my headphones off in order to increase my awareness (safety first!), however, those three songs were still bouncing around in my head. Later that evening I put those songs in a playlist and was pleased with how they fit together. Then I shelved the idea.

Over the next month I went back to this playlist several times and tried to add things but nothing was working. This is a very common refrain in nearly all projects I work on. Then enters the self doubt and the mental backslide that many of us are familiar with.

Last night I gave it one more try and everything just fell together.
