Incredible, how naming something took nothing away from its stagger.
Language could be totally impotent like that.

This comes from the book Martyr which I am immensely enjoying.

I am constantly deep in my head and then look into a crowd and wonder what others are deep in their head about.
What are my next moves and how similar and/or different are they from theirs?
What pain, joy or fear are they feeling?
What will they or I have for lunch?

I'll never know because god forbid I go up and talk to a stranger.
