This mixtape is called Valentines 2022

The reasons for making mixes can vary greatly but perhaps the most common prompt is "hey I like you and I want you to like me too". It's also arguably the best kind and hopefully one that everyone is familiar with from both sides.

Now I haven't made a mix of that ilk in a hot minute and alas this is not that type of mix per se.

I wanted to make a mix that was just love songs (or at least what I think of as love songs). I found the process of choosing what did/didn't make the cut to be far more interesting than expected. Had this been more of an "I like you please like me" mix I would likely have focused more on the lyrics in order to make sure I wasn't being too vague or too heavy handed. I also likely wouldn't have gone "love only" on the theme... gotta play it cool. While I did end up focusing on lyrics I was more concentrated on finding different voices/stories about love.

All this being said. I do like you and I do want you to like me too.

If valentines day is your thing I hope you have a great one. It's never really meant much to me but I did have a fun time helping my youngest son crank out 28 cards last night.
